Producers of all DAWs are welcome! Great records are made in all sorts of DAWs. (One of our top success stories is a mixer/producer working in Reaper!)

Ian will mostly teach in what he makes his hits in: Ableton. But there will be videos in Logic and ProTools, too– and plenty of room for questions in the member site!

What styles will you focus on?

You can use our techniques in Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, House, Alternative/Indie, Rock, Funk, Contemporary Country, Modern Folk, and Contemporary Soul.

What you learn here will translate to other genres too, but we won't directly talk about genres like classic country/folk, classical, Metal, Reggae, and Jazz.

For new & advanced producers.

If you're a beginner, you'll get to skip newbie workflow mistakes and cut right to the creative stuff.

If you're advanced, you'll get to spy what's working for another awesome producer and learn some new techniques.

PRODUCER OF THE YEAR is NOT for you if…

  • You need basic 101 training in your DAW. This workshop is great for beginner to advanced, you do just need to know your way around music production software.
  • You're still trying to grasp the basics, like: mixing techniques, knowledge of recording instruments and vocals, creating midi tracks, and using software instruments.
  • You prefer one-on-one coaching (we specifically work in a group setting to empower you to be strong on your own).
  • You are exclusively interested in recording/producing live bands in the studio.
  • You're looking to be an "overnight success." Our program is leveraged for fast track results compared to other models online, however making records requires creativity, risk, discernment, and a lot of work over time.
  • You get mad when an artist doesn't release a project you've worked on. It's definitely sad when that happens, however in the big leagues it does happen... and in Producer of the Year we support whatever decision the artist makes on their journey.
  • You only want to be in community with people whose age, gender, race, ethnicity, life situation, and background match your own. This intensive will definitely be a medley of awesome humans! All of our programs are designed with a team mindset, and that means supporting everyone.
